Darren Morris Music



Darren writes and produces music mainly as a collaborator, enjoying releases on major and independent record labels worldwide.


On going collaboraters include Ashley Beedle (DJ/Producer) and Tim Goldsworthy (previously DFA records) with previous co-writes with David Holmes (DJ/Producer) and X-Press 2.


In 2010, Darren co-wrote and produced the album 'Mavis' with Ashley Beedle, which was released on K7 records. A whole host of collaborators appear, including Candi Staton, Cerys Matthews, Ed Harcourt, Sarah Cracknell (St Etienne), Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) and Edwyn Collins.


During a 5 month stay in New York 1999, Darren co-produced and wrote the dark and gritty David Holmes album 'Bow Down To The Exit Sign' (Go Beat! Records). It's release in late 2000 reached #22 in the UK album charts.


More recent projects with Ashley Beedle include - releases on Ashley's  label 'Back To The World', co-writer on Yardism EP#1 and EP#2, Crazy Godz, engineer and performer on re-edits album 'Message In The Music' (Harmless Records). Darren and Ashley are currently co-writing a sci-fi concept soundtrack album, 'Afrikanz On Marz', complete with narration.


Darren is very much at the helm of Jo Wallace's Ramrock record label, engineering, performing and a little co-production at his North Street Studio One in St. Leonards UK.


Projects on the boil include a double album of recorded improvised performance on the Union Chapel organ (Islington) later overlayed with cinematic string machines and mini-moog orchestration.
